Position Overview
The Help Desk Specialist will perform end-user technical support for all Balls Food Stores teammates. End-user technical support will include remote and on-site support to users in the areas of e-mail, directories, standard Windows desktop applications, commercial and custom applications, desktop computer hardware, laptop computer hardware, printers, and telephones. They will serve as the initial point of contact for troubleshooting end-user hardware, software, and connectivity issues. This position will also assist with device configuration and deployment, device inventory, and obsolete hardware disposal.
Essential Job Functions
- Answer end user technical support questions.
- Provide application support on Microsoft Office applications.
- Provide operating system support on Microsoft Windows 10.
- Perform troubleshooting of personal computer hardware and software.
- Perform troubleshooting and routine maintenance for desktop and network printers.
- Perform routine administration tasks on Grandstream VoIP phone system.
- Perform routine administration on a variety of security hardware and software solutions.
- Responsible for a high degree of end user satisfaction.
- Prepare documentation on technical solutions.
- Prepare reports and correspondence as needed.
- Log, review, and update all end user support activities in the designated ticketing system.
- Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Requirements
- At least 2 years of professional Information Technology experience required.
- Must be proficient with Windows 10 operating system.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite products is required.
- Experience with Microsoft 365 support is preferred.
- Associate's Degree or equivalent experience required.
- A+, Network+, MCP, or other entry level IT certifications preferred.
- Basic Windows Server and Microsoft Exchange administration skills would be helpful.
- Experience with Active Directory Users and Computers is preferred.
- Must be able to follow corporate IT security and intellectual property guidelines.
- Must be dependable and flexible with work schedule.
- Must be well organized and able to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
- Must be able to deal tactfully with end users in our retail, office, and manufacturing environments.
- Must possess excellent written and oral communication skills.
