Clinical Staff Pharmacist
Job Title: Clinical Staff Pharmacist/PGY-1 Residency Primary Preceptor-Grocery Chain Pharmacy Job Summary: Balls Food Stores is seeking applications for a full-time (40 hours per week) pharmacist position. This position will be based in two established community pharmacy sites.
- 30% non-dispensing clinical time. Responsibilities include: 1) serving as the primary preceptor for a PGY-1 Community-Based Pharmacy resident through Balls Food Stores (BFS) and the University of Kansas School of Pharmacy, 2) completing tasks specific to pharmacy residency training and 3) providing clinical services through the BFS employee wellness and disease management programs. Current programs offered include diabetes and cardiovascular education, biometric screenings, and transitions of care services. The pharmacist will meet with 30 -50 patients 4 to 6 times annually in the BFS diabetes and/or cardiovascular chronic condition management program.
- 70% dispensing time. Responsibilities include: 1) traditional dispensing responsibilities, 2) optimizing current clinical pharmacy services including MTM, travel vaccines, and immunizations, 3) assisting in the implementation of new clinical services, and 4) precepting and evaluating PharmD students on clerkship rotations.
The successful candidate will be able to work independently, as well as part of a tight-knit team. Time management skills and the ability to prioritize multiple tasks and teams are also beneficial. The successful candidate is expected to participate in training programs to fill gaps in experience, if any are identified, as well as demonstrate a commitment to ongoing professional development.
Minimum Requirements:
- PharmD degree
- Immunization certification
- Medication Therapy Management (MTM) experience
- Community pharmacy practice experience
- History of effectively teaching/precepting pharmacy students or pharmacy residents
- Licensed pharmacist in Kansas and Missouri (can start process after hire)
Preferred Requirements:
- Residency training in community-based pharmacy or ambulatory care
- BPS certification
