Ball's Food Stores is a family owned regional grocery chain operating stores in Kansas and Missouri. Strong knowledge of bakery and deli department operations is required. Serve as a support person to the Store Manager and Department Manager working side by side in assigned locations. Assess each store's ability to exceed customer expectations for ease of shopping, service, variety, freshness, cleanliness, food safety and regulatory conditions. Serve as a liaison to Departments providing upward feedback on the effectiveness of the merchandising and operations as well as local needs and products. Work with store management to identify store opportunities, analyze reports to improve sales, shrink, safety, profit and the customers shopping experience. Role model and demonstrate the company's core values of respect, honesty, integrity, diversity, inclusion and safety of others. Must have strong leadership skills not limited to the ability to take on tasks outside of their expertise, possess strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to achieve objectives through others.
Essential Functions: • Instruct and train stores associates in the proper use of their stores display space, special or seasonal merchandising techniques and follow through on company initiatives. • Instruct and train side by side with store Department Managers in proper ordering, execution of the sales plan, implementation and development of product mix to support consistent sales, profit, and tonnage growth, • Maintain and support all Food Safety and Sanitation 'best practices' • Actively work with store's teammates in the promotion of safety and shared responsibility for the achievement of a zero accident safety culture • Keep abreast of competitive situations and monitor and report significant programs or activities • Work with stores in the achievement of reduction of Shrink; apply tools to manage this area • Provide feedback to Store Manager on the strengths and developmental opportunities of teammates in the Bakery and Deli departments
