OBJECTIVE / PURPOSE OF THE POSITION: Why does the position exist? What does it do? How does it contribute to the strategy of Tippin's?

 

The Sanitation Crew Member works in a fast-paced, team environment responsible to clean and sanitize Tippin's food processing plant. The Sanitation Crew Member ensures a quality product by efficiently and thoroughly cleaning and sanitizing food processing plant areas, and complying with Tippin's and regulatory standards. This is not a Janitorial or Housekeeping position.

 

 

 

 FUNDAMENTALS OF THE POSITION: Each of them is the result of the activities summarized to achieve the objective of the position and the time spent for each area.

 

Fundamental Areas                                                                                                                                        

Understand and follow cleaning and sanitation tasks as instructed and assigne+d.

Compliance with all federal, state, and local regulatory requirements and procedures (for example: FDA, KDA, EPA).

Responsible for thorough completion of cleaning assignments, to include but not limited to production, storage, outside perimeter, restrooms and lunch rooms.

Full compliance with Tippin's Good Manufacturing Practices and Standard Operating Procedures.

Ensure the correct chemicals are used, and used at the correct concentration and contact time to ensure optimal sanitation practices.

Perform all tasks safety and in a manner that will not create or cause a threat to the health and safety of the Sanitation Crew Member, or any other person.

Perform tasks in a manner to protect food and not create or cause disruption, damage, or contamination to food, equipment, or facility.

Complete required documentation accurately and on-time.

Maintain cleaning inventory by checking stock level and anticipating cleaning equipment and chemicals.

Communicate with Production Management and QA improvement opportunities and corrective actions necessary to maintain efficiencies with cleaning tasks.

Perform other duties as assigned.

PROFILE OF THE JOB

Characteristics that position holder must demonstrate to perform the job & reach the Position Objective.

 

Academic level required by the position holder

High School/GED or higher

Languages: English and Spanish preferred

One or more years' experience

Qualifications:

  • Perform effective cleaning and sanitation meeting deadlines with or without direct supervision
  • Complete tasks requiring bending, lifting, crouching, and standing throughout the shift.
  • Work independently while understanding the necessity for communicating and coordinating work efforts with other team members and management.
  • Wear Tippin's protective gear including gloves, eye shields, boots as instructed.
  • Be able to read instructions and record completed job tasks.
  • Interact professionally with other team members and visitors.
  • Strong work ethic and sense of personal responsibility for work outcomes.
  • Ability to thrive in a small business organization.

 

Minimum Applicable Experience (Years of Experience, etc.):

experience in food manufacturing will be a plus for the right candidate

Work Environment (Physical Conditions, Sensory Attention, etc.)

Works in a food manufacturing environment. Exposed to typical bakery elements; flour dust, moderate noise, some temperature extremes (oven room, freezers, coolers etc.).

Minimum of 80% working time spent on the production floor; exposed to flour, soy, dairy, peanuts, shellfish

Work safety in a wet environment working with hot water, steam, and exposure to chemical agents.

Clean and sanitize around equipment, and in room temperatures both warm and cool.

Perform tasks while bending, lifting, crouching, and standing throughout the shift.

 

 

Americans with Disabilities Act (Physical Requirements)

The job is mostly walking the factory floors, lifting and performing production functions

Must be able to lift objects weighting 10 50 pounds over several hours if needed

Must be able to ascend/descend stairs (to access office space)
